Classes
Mixed Media Journaling
with Lenore Lyons
Where: 44 Main St., Orleans
When: 3 Thursdays mornings - January 23, 30 February 6, 2025 9:30-12:30
Fee: $70 which includes a bound watercolor journal and 3 water brushes.
Why Journal? Simply, because it feels good.
Keeping an Art Journal is a way to explore both ideas and feelings in a visual way, to be creative and take care of yourself at the same time. A journal is a place to write down things that you want to remember and a place to leave things that you are ready to forget. It’s a book that includes writing, lettering, lines, colors and little notes or cards. You can add to the journal every day or once a month…there are no rules.
Everyone will receive a blank journal. Then you’ll create backgrounds with color and texture by experimenting with lots of supplies that you’ve looked at in the art stores. We’ll explore adding images and collage.
We will talk about content…ideas about what to write and creative ways to write it. You will learn some easy lettering styles and ways to take it to the next level. You’ll learn secret writing- sometimes you need that kind of thing to let things go. Then there is this. You will find out about a quick and easy way to add photos to your journals -even on the go. A small photo can be an easy way to start a page.
Great for people of all ages, who are thinkers, doodlers, nature lovers, travelers, grandparents and YOU.
Don’t worry if you can’t draw a straight line. No art experience or drawing ability is necessary at all, really!
It’s fun to talk with others while being creative. Do this for yourself, you can relax and let your imagination take over. In this class, all kinds of fun materials are included. Everyone will go home with lots of ideas, a journal that’s no longer blank and water brushes. You in?
